Bryant is among AIA honorees

Xavier Prep sports fans got a bonus on Wednesday night (Feb. 28) at halftime of the 6A Conference state championship basketball game at Arizona State’s Wells Fargo Arena.

They saw someone familiar standing on the court as the team from Tempe Corona del Sol was honored by the Arizona Interscholastic Association 25 years after winning the title in 1993.

It was none other than XCP volleyball coach Lamar-Renee Bryant, who waved to the fans and joined them in support of the Xavier basketball team against Surprise Valley Vista.

Bryant led Xavier to the 6A volleyball title last fall.
