Tennis players represent Xavier well

Xavier Prep’s tennis players were busy on Saturday (March 3) and showed well in the Kiwanis North Phoenix Invitational at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale.

Erica Stutz and Emily Even finished second in the gold doubles bracket. The team of Maddy Corley and Kate Straneva were 2-2 in gold doubles.

Emily Good and Caroline Armknecht were 4-0 in the silver doubles bracket and were filling in for two players from another school who were ill.

In gold singles, Lorelei Glidden and Kate Stegman both went 2-1.

A couple of additional Xavier players, Tristanne Dechoux and Jessica Mirmelli, did not play due to injuries.

The Gators have matches on three consecutive days this week. They have home matches on Tuesday (March 6) and Wednesday (March 7) with Mesa Red Mountain and Scottsdale Chaparral, respectively and travel to face Phoenix Horizon on Thursday (March 8).
