Winning streak continues for Gator golf

The victories just keep on coming for the XCP golf team.
The Gators earned their 201st win in a row on Wednesday (Oct. 8), then came back with No. 202 on Thursday (Oct. 9)
On Wednesday, the Gators defeated Phoenix Pinnacle and Phoenix North Canyon in a three-way match on the Padre Course at Camelback Country Club in Paradise Valley.
Xavier junior Mikayla Fitzpatrick was the top finisher with a one-under-par 35, the first time she has earned medalist honors this season.
“This was a good match for us because Pinnacle is a very good team,’’ said XCP head coach and athletic director Sr. Lynn Winsor. “Everybody is playing well, everybody is putting well right now.’’
On Thursday, XCP defeated Chandler High, 146-196, at the Camelback Padre course.
Sophomore Elizabeth Calderelli was the medalist in this one, with a 35.
The Wednesday and Thursday matches served as tune-ups for the upcoming sectional tournament and the Division I state tournament, where the Gators will attempt to win the 32nd title in school history.
