Hatfield, relays contribute to 4th-place swim finish

The Xavier swimming and diving team wrapped up its first season under new coach Kelley Conrad with a fourth-place finish in the Division I state meet on Saturday (Nov. 8) at the Skyline Aquatic Center in east Mesa.
Xavier scored 225 points, following champion Scottsdale Chaparral (365 ½), Phoenix Pinnacle (286 ½) and Phoenix Desert Vista (250).
The Gators’ top finishes were second places by Aimee Hatfield in the 50-yard freestyle and the school’s 200-yard freestyle relay quartet.
Here are XCP finishers in finals events . . .
200-yard medley relay – fourth, 1:48.02 (Kaitlyn McCoy, Jocelyn Jones, Elise Roediger and Hatfield).
50-yard freestyle – Hatfield, second, 23.67; Roediger, fourth (24.14); Allie Worrall, eighth (24.67).
Diving – Serena Sedillo, fifth, 384.60 points.
100-yard butterfly – Roediger, fourth, 55.33.
100-yard freestyle – Hatfield, fifth, 52.94; Worrall, sixth, 52.97.
500-yard freestyle – Madeline Allen, fourth, 5:02.99.
200-yard freestyle relay – second, 1:36.56 (Worrall, Roediger, Alice Hick, Hatfield).
400-yard freestyle relay – fourth, 3:34.84 (Worrall, McCoy, Hick, Lilly Creswick).
