Xavier girls give max effort in Chandler Rotary track

A number of Xavier track athletes had respectable finishes in the 75^th Chandler Rotary Invitational on Saturday (March 21) at Chandler High School.

The Xavier athletes competed in the Elite Division.

Junior Tessa Weiss was 16^th in the 800-meter run at 2:24.07. Senior Lauren Kinzle was 26^th in the same event at 2:26.65.

Weiss was 20^th in the 1,600-meter run at 5:10.68 and junior Shannan Higgins was 21^st at 5:11.86. Weiss was listed 20^th in the mile at 5:12.30 and Higgins 21^st at 5:13.72.

Junior Jane Miller was ninth in the 3,200-meter run at 11:11.57. Senior Shannon Molvin was 11^th at 11:16.17, senior Sierra Brown was 13^th at 11:19.08 and sophomore Sarah Carter was 19^th at 11:34.54.

Xavier was 13^th in the 4x100-meter relay at 51.05.

Senior Jenna Fitzgerald was 11^th in the pole vault at a height of 10 feet. In the long jump, junior Teresa Roessler was 15^th at 15-1 and junior Cydeni Carter was 23^rd at 14-4.

The Gators will be back at Chandler High for a dual meet on Wednesday (March 25) at 3:30 p.m. and will host the Fr. “Dutch’’ Oliver Invitational for sophomores at 2 p.m. on Friday (March 27) at the Brophy Sports facility.
