Good news for Gator softball -- they're No. 1!

Xavier’s softball season is going so good that the Gators have found a way to make some news during a week in which they are not playing.
XCP is the No. 1-ranked team in Division I in the most recent rankings by that were released on Monday (April 6).
The Gators have won 17 of 21 games. Their only losses are to Phoenix Pinnacle, Chandler Basha, Buckeye Verrado and Peoria Sunrise Mountain.
Xavier has eight games remaining on its regular-season schedule, including two with third-ranked Phoenix Horizon and No. 5 Glendale Mountain Ridge.
Four of the Gators’ wins are over ranked teams – No. 6 Chandler Hamilton, No. 7 Phoenix Desert Vista, No. 8 defending champion Mesa Red Mountain and No. 10 Gilbert.
Xavier’s first game after the break is April 15 at Peoria Centennial. The Gators defeated Centennial in their first game of the season.
