Another tournament win for Gator golf

Xavier Prep’s outstanding golf run continues.
On Saturday, for the second straight week, the Gators claimed the top prize in a tournament.
Their win in the Nighthawk Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 12) at the Tucson National Golf Course followed last week’s triumph in the Antigua Invitational in Scottsdale.
Xavier shot a 310, followed by Tucson Sahuaro and Tucson Salpointe Catholic. XCP also won the tournament in 2014.
Xavier’s top scorers on the par-73 course were senior Mikayla Fitzpatrick and junior Emily Mahar, who tied for second place at 76. Senior Alisa Snyder was at 78, junior Lily Worden was at 79 and junior Elizabeth Caldarelli was at 81.
Extra scorers for the Gators were freshman Eve Worden (76), sophomore Madeline Brown (88), freshman Emily Cons (89), freshman Laura Lu (96) and sophomore Lauren Faulkner (112).
Xavier has a dual match against Phoenix Horizon on Tuesday (Sept. 15) at the Kierland Golf Course in Scottsdale, then has another tournament on Thursday (Sept. 17). That will be the Aguila Invitational at Aguila Golf Course in Laveen, site of many state tournaments.
