He covered high school sports on several occasions as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State sports. Xavier enters sand tourney as 4-time champ

Xavier Prep, the state champion in each of sand volleyball’s four seasons in Arizona, goes for No. 5 beginning on Tuesday (April 26).
The Gators are 10-0 going in as the top seed from Section I and face Buckeye Verrado, the No. 4 seed from Section II, in a 6 p.m. quarterfinal match at the Victory Lane Sports Complex in Glendale, 43rd Ave. and Pinnacle Peak Road.
The winner will advance to the semifinals on Thursday night (April 28), also at Victory Lane at 6 p.m. The opponent in that match would be either Scottsdale Chaparral or Gilbert Mesquite. XCP played Mesquite on April 18, winning 5-0.
The championship match will be played Saturday (April 30) at Mesquite High in Gilbert. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
