He covered high school sports on several occasions as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State sports. Badminton still looking good; V-ball heads to Vegas

Xavier Prep’s badminton team improved to 7-0 with a 9-0 victory over host Anthem Boulder Creek on Thursday (Sept. 15). The junior varsity won 8-1.
The Gators return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 20) with a match at Scottsdale Desert Mountain.

Tatum Clarke won 11-3, 11-0.
Emily Woodrow won 11-4, 11-4.
Annie Kamps won 11-0, 11-6.
Kiana Valentove-MacDonald won 11-0, 11-0.
Maddie Reinhart won 11-4, 11-0.
Alexa Wolfson won 11-0, 11-1.

Woodrow-Valentove-MacDonald won 15-8, 15-2.
Clarke-Kamps won 15-1, 15-4.
Reinhart-Wolfson won 15-6, 15-2.

Volleyball – Xavier was seeded 13th overall in the Durango Fall Classic that began Friday (Sept. 16) at Durango High School in Las Vegas.
The Gators were in a four-team pool with Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, South Torrance (Calif.) and Lakeside (Calif.).
Pool play was scheduled for Friday, with qualifying rounds set for Saturday (Sept. 17). The tournament championship match will be Saturday afternoon.

Freshman tennis – Xavier defeated visiting Chandler 8-1 on Thursday.


Marilyn Ghazoul lost 8-0.
Tara Froelich won 8-1.
Annie Langmade won 8-0.
Athena Gongoyan won 8-1.
Sally Lichtman won 8-0.
Xavier on sixth match by default.
