Roediger helps Xavier swim-dive finish 4th

Junior Mary Roediger won the 50-yard freestyle and Xavier Prep’s swimming and diving team finished in fourth place on Saturday (Sept. 17) in the 20^th annual Wolves Classic at Chandler High School.

Roediger won her event in 24.73 seconds. She had a busy day, also swimming in the 200-yard medley relay (third), the 200-yard freestyle relay (fourth) and the 100-yard breaststroke (third).

Junior Kaitlyn McCoy also had successful efforts in the 200-yard medley relay (third), the 200-yard individual medley (third), the 100-yard backstroke (third) and 400-yard freestyle relay (third).

Xavier scored 208 points in the team competition, following champion Phoenix Desert Vista (287), Scottsdale Chaparral (285) and Chandler Hamilton (213). The Gators travel to face Desert Vista in Ahwatukee on Thursday (Sept. 22).
