XCP badminton rolls to win over Mesa High

Six and counting. That is evidence of the high level of play shown by Xavier Prep’s badminton team as the Gators have captured their first six matches of the season.
The latest was a 9-0 rout of visiting Mesa High on Thursday (Sept. 8). The junior varsity won by the same score.
With five home matches already during the season, the schedule begins to balance out a bit next week, as the Gators have road matches on Tuesday (Sept. 13) at Phoenix Mountain Pointe in Ahwatukee and Thursday (Sept. 15) at Anthem Boulder Creek.

Tatum Clarke won 11-2, 11-2.
Emily Woodrow won 11-2, 11-0.
Annie Kamps won 11-6, 11-1.
Kiana Valentove-Macdonald won 11-0, 11-1.
Maddie Reinhart won 11-1, 11-1.
Alexa Wolfson won 11-2, 11-2.

Woodrow-Valentove-Macdonald won 15-8, 15-1.
Clarke-Kamps won 15-0, 15-0.
Reinhart-Wolfson won 15-7, 15-2.
