Gator golfers record close victory

Xavier Prep’s golf coaches have been wary of Goodyear Millennium all season, and the Tigers showed why on Wednesday (Oct. 5).
Millennium pushed the Gators to the limit before XCP came away with a four-stroke victory, 142-146, at the Camelback Golf Club in Paradise Valley.
The Gators’ Emily Mahar earned medalist honors with a 32.
Millennium’s Brooke Veres was second at 35. There was a three-way tie for third at 36 with Xavier’s Ashley Menne, Elizabeth Caldarelli and Millennium’s Madleine Laux.
Sixth place went to Millennium’s Carley Strole at 37. Xavier’s Lily Worden and Millennium’s Mikayla Serillo tied for seventh at 38. And Xavier’s Eve Worden and Millennium’s Sarah Marek tied for ninth at 41.
Xavier’s final match of the regular season will be Oct. 12 at Camelback Golf Club against Tempe Corona del Sol and Scottsdale Chaparral.
