He covered high school sports on several occasions as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State sports. From 2008-14, he was a staff writer for, the web site of the Arizona Interscholastic Association.

Soccer wins opener; hoops still unbeaten

Xavier Prep’s soccer team kicked off its 2016-17 season with a strong performance on Tuesday night (Nov. 29), scoring four second-half goals to defeat host Gilbert High 4-1.
Junior Abby Hubbard and senior Quiqui Hita each had a goal and an assist for the Gators. Sophomore Kyla Ferry and senior Madie Amavilah also scored goals for XCP.
Xavier will play its home opener at 6 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 2) against Phoenix Horizon. It will be Horizon’s first match of the season.

Basketball – Xavier remained unbeaten at 6-0 with a 47-44 victory over visiting Phoenix Mountain Pointe on Tuesday night.
The Gators’ next game will be on Friday at Mesa Skyline. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
