It wasn't Gators' day against Sandra Day O'Connor

Xavier Prep’s softball team entered Tuesday’s (March 7) road game against Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor hoping to put recent games in which they hit and scored little behind them.
But the frustration continued for the Gators, who suffered an 11-1 setback in a contest shortened to five innings by the 10-run rule.
Xavier is now 3-6 and will take the field again on Friday (March 10) at Petznick Field against visiting Goodyear Millennium. First pitch is at 3:45 p.m.
XCP was tied at 1 after the first inning. A sacrifice fly by Kelsey Melton scored Kaela Stehly to account for the Gators’ run.
The roof then caved in as Sandra Day O’Connor scored six runs in the second inning and four more in the third.
Xavier finished with five hits on the day, two by Jordan Bassett.
