Balanced effort leads XCP lacrosse to semis

Everything fell into place for the Xavier Prep club lacrosse team on Tuesday (May 2).
The third-seeded Gators used a balanced scoring effort to defeat No. 6 Phoenix Horizon 12-5 in an Arizona Girls Lacrosse Association quarterfinal match at Petznick Field.
Xavier (10-3) advances to Thursday night’s (7:15) semifinals at No. 2 seed Scottsdale Chaparral. The winner of that match will head to the title match on Saturday night (7:15) at Phoenix Arcadia. The opponent would be the winner of a Thursday night match between No. 1 Phoenix Desert Vista and No. 4 Phoenix Pinnacle. Chaparral defeated Xavier earlier this season.
The Gators had four players with two goals apiece against Horizon. They were Kayla Swanson, Alexa Wear, Caylie Wagner and Caitlin Blomo. Other players who scored were Nina Mackey, Kit Blouin, Katie Hobaica and Bella Johnson.
