A McKnight to remember for XCP volleyball

Xavier Prep’s volleyball team raised its record to 4-0 with a 3-0 sweep of Anthem Boulder Creek at the Activity Center on Thursday night (Sept. 7). Scores were 26-24, 25-17 and 25-20.

Sophomore outside hitter Bri McKnight had a big match for the Gators, finishing with nine kills and 17 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Jasmine Knight had eight kills, senior libero Alyna Draper had 20 digs and junior setter Shannon Shields had 27 assists.

The Gators’ next four events will be on the road.

They will travel to face Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor on Tuesday (Sept. 12) and Gilbert Perry on Wednesday (Sept. 13). Then the road takes them to Las Vegas for the high-profile Durango Classic (seven games total) on Sept. 15 and 16. They will be back in Arizona for a match at Gilbert Highland on Sept. 19.

Xavier’s next home match will be against Phoenix Desert Vista on Sept. 21.
