Badminton leaves opponents with blank page

Xavier Prep’s badminton athletes sure like playing at home.

In Monday’s (Sept. 25) regular-season home finale, the Gators had a strong effort against Phoenix Mountain Pointe with a 9-0 victory.

It gave the Gators a 10-1 overall record and 5-0 mark at home. The home record is noteworthy because each of the wins has been by a shutout.

XCP had three road matches remaining, as well as a tournament.

The Gators will face Chandler High on Thursday (Sept. 28) and will travel to meet Gilbert Perry on Oct. 3 and Chandler Basha on Oct. 5.

Xavier will participate in the Independence Invite on Saturday (Sept. 30) at Glendale Independence. Start time is 9 a.m.
