There will
be several categories of racing, the first race beginning at approximately 8
a.m.
Fall races
are 5,000 meters in length, meaning the boats must go the full length of the
lake. Spring races are 2,000 meters.
The longer
races are more of a test of the rowers’ strength and endurance and they are
very winded and fatigued by the end. It is survival of the fittest.
Other races
for this school year are Nov. 11 (Mission Bay/San Diego), Dec. 2 (Long Beach,
Calif.), March 2 (Tempe Town Lake), April 8 (Long Beach) and May 5 (Gold River,
Calif.).
