Xavier has two of top five riders in mountain biking

The five-race Arizona Interscholastic Cycling League season came to a conclusion on Sunday (Nov. 5), and the Brophy/Xavier club team finished eighth out of 13 teams in the Division 1 overall standings.

The Brophy/Xavier mountain bikers also combined to finish eighth in the last race at the White Tank Mountain Regional Park in the far West Valley community of Waddell.

Xavier’s Erin Hill finished third in the girls’ sophomore race, with Samantha Sandoval finishing ninth.

In the overall standings for sophomores on the season, Xavier had two riders finish in the top five – Hill (fourth) and Heather Kwapiszeski (fifth). In the overall standings for freshmen, Xavier’s Natalie Fuchs was 17th.

The team made great strides from the 2016 season and head coach Rich Perrott and his staff look forward to even more improvement along with more participants in 2018.

A fantastic effort by all !!
