A big 100-point win for swimmers, divers

Xavier Prep’s swimming and diving team gave its graduating seniors a lovely parting gift with a big 100-point victory over visiting Anthem Boulder Creek on Thursday (Sept. 27) at the Brophy Aquatics Center.

Xavier won all three relay events, all individual races and diving.

Individual winners were senior Alyssa Largay in diving, freshman Gracie Munk in the 100-yard breaststroke, sophomore Emma Sharp in the 200-yard freestyle, sophomore Kelly Scott in the 100-yard backstroke, freshman Hope Nolan in the 200-yard individual medley, sophomore Sydney Millane in the 500-yard freestyle, junior Vica Dow in the 100-yard butterfly and freshman Daisy Maldonado in the 100-yard freestyle.

Xavier had a 1-2-3 finish in the 50-yard freestyle with Munk, sophomore Jordan Herrera and sophomore Mia Rankin.

In the 200-yard medley relay, the Xavier group of Dow, freshman Ashleigh Baros, junior Olivia Paliscak and junior Carlie Herrmann touched the wall first.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, it was Herrera, Rankin, senior Clare Carlson and Maldonado.

And in the 400-yard freestyle relay, it was Rankin, junior Gracie Schumacher, Millane and Scott.

Xavier will compete next in the PCDS Invite on Saturday (Sept. 29) at Phoenix Country Day School.
