He covered high school sports on several occasions as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State sports. Badminton rolls past O'Connor for 2nd win

Xavier Prep’s badminton team continued its quick start to the new season, winning its second match in a row with an 8-1 road triumph at Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor on Tuesday (Sept. 4).

Among the highlights were Maeve Lee’s 11-5, 11-6 in No. 1 singles, and Alex Kockinis stepping in at No. 6 singles for an 11-7, 11-2 victory.

All three doubles teams won.

The XCP junior varsity had a tough match, battling back and forth, before falling 5-4.

Xavier has another road match on Thursday (Sept. 6) against Phoenix Pinnacle.
