Xavier Prep's one and only . . . |
Sr. Lynn
Winsor, the Xavier athletic director, golf co-head coach and vice principal for
activities, got some bonus recognition on Thursday (Nov. 1). It was in addition
to being one of the newest inductees into the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame later
that evening in Scottsdale.
After the
Thursday morning’s Mass at school, she was led to the Activity Center, where a
large permanent sign had been painted on the east wall.
It read,
Sister Lynn Winsor, BVM, XCP Class of 1961, Arizona Sports Hall of Fame,
November 2018.
A
well-deserved tribute, indeed. All of this only two days after leading Xavier’s
golf team to its 36th state championship and eighth in a row.
Winsor was
inducted into the Hall with late former Arizona Cardinal and Arizona State
player Pat Tillman, former Diamondbacks first baseman Mark Grace, former
Olympic swimming medalist Gary Hall Jr., University of Arizona softball coach
Mike Candrea, and former Scottsdale Chaparral softball coach Jeff Oscarson.
