It's on to state tennis tourney for 14-0 Gators

Xavier Prep’s had another big finish to its regular season on Thursday (April 11).

The Gators earned their 14th victory without a loss with a 9-0 defeat of host Chandler Hamilton.

As of Friday morning (April 12), Xavier was the No. 2-rated team behind two-time defending champion Scottsdale Desert Mountain in the Arizona Interscholastic Association’s Division I power-points rankings.

Xavier will begin the team portion of the state tournament on April 23 with a home match against an opponent to be determined. There will be a week-long gap between the first and second rounds, with the second rounds being played on April 30.

Individual singles and doubles will begin on April 26. The first two rounds will be at Gene Autry Park in east Mesa. Quarterfinals and semifinals are April 27 at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale. Finals will be held at a site to be determined on April 29.
