Softball's Bridget Donahey earns Player of Week

Last week was a big week for Xavier Prep softball player Bridget Donahey and people certainly noticed.

The Arizona Prep Spotlight TV program has selected the freshman shortstop as its Softball Player of the Week for her efforts in the first game of a two-game series against Chandler High’s Wolves.

In the game at Xavier’s Petznick Field on April 11, Donahey hit a solo home run to get things going for the Gators. After seeing Chandler rally for a lead late in the game, Xavier tied it in the bottom of the seventh and won it in the ninth as Donahey hit a shot down the third-base line off the third baseman’s glove to drive in Meghan Schouten with the game-winner.

Congratulations, Bridget, and may you and the Gators continue to display your magic in the upcoming 6A Conference state tournament !!
