XCP swimmers, divers are dominant in the water

Xavier Prep’s swimming and diving team had a dominating performance on Thurday (Sept. 12) against Phoenix Pinnacle, winning 141-46 at the Brophy Prep Aquatic Complex.

Vica Dow, Paola Guerra, Haley Hubbard and Gracie Munk raced to a big victory in the 200-yard medley relay. Mia Rankin and Kelly Scott went 1-2 in the 200-yard freestyle. Jordan Herrera and Hope Nolan went 1-2 in the 200-yard individual medley.

Guerra and Olivia Paliscak went 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle. Munk and Hubbard went 1-2 in the 100-yard butterfly. Scott and Nolan were 1-2 in the 100-yard freestyle.

Paliscak, Guerra, Nolan and Scott won the 200-yard freestyle relay. Munk and Dow went 1-2 in the 100-yard backstroke. Guerra, Rankin and Emma Sharp made it a 1-2-3 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.

And Xavier finished off the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Xavier will swim in the annual Wolves Classic on Saturday (Sept. 14) at Chandler High.
