Junior Mary
Beth Doss earned medalist honors for the first time this season and Xavier Prep’s
golf team rolled to a 33-shot victory over Phoenix Horizon on Tuesday (Sept.
17) at Phoenix Country Club. The match had been moved due to a scheduling
conflict later in the season.
Doss shot an
even-par 36 for nine holes. The rest of the top five were freshman Annie Dawson
at 1-over 37, senior Ashley Menne at 2-over 38, senior Breyana Matthews at
3-over 39 and sophomore Ivy Song at 5-over 41.

scores were:
Sophomore
Ava Mayberger at 11-over 47, senior Danae Bravo at 14-over 50, sophomore Kate
Ryan at 16-over 52, sophomore Audrey Sanchez at 17-over 53 and freshman Sophie
Stamatis at 23-over 59.
Next up for
Xavier is the Aguila Invitational on Friday (Sept. 20) and Saturday (Sept. 21)
at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen.
Badminton
The XCP
badminton team rebounded from a loss to Phoenix Pinnacle last week with a 6-3
victory on the road over Tempe Corona del Sol on Tuesday (Sept. 17). The JV
also won 8-1.
The varsity
record is at 4-2, while the JV is 5-1.
Xavier is on
the road again on Thursday (Sept. 19) when it plays at Scottsdale Chaparral.
