He covered high school sports on several occasions as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State sports. From 2008-14, he was a staff writer for AIA365.com, the web site of the Arizona Interscholastic Association.

Gator volleyball No. 22 on MaxPreps national list

Xavier Prep is now in the national upper echelon of volleyball teams, according to the most recent Top 25 listing by MaxPreps.

The Gators move into the Top 25 at No. 22 after being MaxPreps’ No. 33 team in the preseason.

Xavier, the two-time defending 6A Conference state champion, was off to an 11-0 start in 2019 entering Thursday night’s match in Ahwatukee against Phoenix Mountain Pointe. Xavier won the annual House of Payne Invitational in Chandler over the weekend, taking nine straight matches over the two days.
