Swim-dive tunes up for state with big AMDG finish

In their final tune-up for this week’s Division I state swimming and diving meet, Xavier Prep’s Gators had a strong finish in their final invitational race, the AMDG at the Brophy aquatic center on Saturday (Nov. 2).

As they have been all season, the relay teams stood out.

Xavier ruled the relays as the result of efforts from Gracie Munk, Pao Guerra, Olivia Paliscak, Kelly Scott, Maddie Wright, Jordan Herrera, Vica Dow and Mia Rankin.

Individual event winners were Herrera in the 200-yard individual medley, Wright in the 50-yard freestyle, Hope Nolan in the 100-yard butterfly and Munk in the 100-yard backstroke.

Swimming and diving Division I state preliminaries will be held on Thursday (Nov. 7), with the finals set for Friday (Nov. 8), both at the Kino aquatic complex in Mesa.
