Converse pens top Arizona essay, on to nationals

Another honor for Xavier Prep senior athlete Abby Converse !!

The indoor and beach volleyball player has won the Arizona competition for the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Scholar Essay Contest.

The contest begins with female and male high school students filling out an application and submitting essays dealing with life principles earned in sports.

Converse’s essay now moves on into competition with four other essays from the NIAAA’s Section VII.

The seven section winners from around the country (seven essays each for females and males) will be submitted to a national review board.

Overall winners will be announced in the fall of 2020.

Said Xavier Athletic Director Sr. Lynn Winsor: “Xavier is proud of Abby, who is involved in so many Xavier Prep activities and athletics and wrote a beautiful essay.’’
