Perfecto! Gator golf finishes regular season at 10-0

 It’s a terrific 10 for the Xavier Gators’ golf team!

The girls finished their regular season on Wednesday (Sept. 30) by defeating Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor and Chandler High at Camelback Golf Club’s Padre Course in Scottsdale.

Scores were XCP 152, Sandra Day O’Connor 171 and Chandler 217.

Xavier was led by its two seniors, Lauren Garcia and Mary Beth Doss. Garcia shot the top score of the day with a 1-under-par 35, and Doss was 2-over at 38.

The other two players figuring into the team scoring were junior Ivy Song (3-over 39) and freshman Kate Hauptman (4-over 40). The extra player was freshman Lena Durette (7-over 43).

Sophomore Annie Dawson (2-over 38), freshman Jayden Jevnick (38), junior Audrey Sanchez (3-over 39), freshman Kyla Layman (39), junior Ava Mayberger (7-over 43), freshman Kalyn Doss (8-over 44), junior Kate Ryan (44), freshman Lauren Campbell (10-over 46), freshman Karter Nannen (11-over 47), freshman Grace Rubelsky (14-over 50) and sophomore Sophie Stamatis (18-over 54).

Xavier will play next in the Aguila “State Preview’’ Tournament on Oct. 20 at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen. One week later, the Division I state tournament will be held on Oct. 26-27 at the Omni Tucson National Resort.
