Smiling emoji says it all for XCP badminton

Accompanied by a smiling emoji, Laura Forbes relayed a welcome text message on Thursday (Oct. 1).

“A good day for badminton,’’ said the Xavier Prep coach.

It was all the way around for the Gators’ traveling party to Chandler Hamilton, where the varsity defeated the host Huskies 8-1 and the junior varsity prevailed 9-0.

On Saturday (Oct. 3), Xavier will play in its second tournament in as many weekends with an appearance in the annual Forner Invitational at Phoenix Sunnyslope. Unfortunately, due to health and safety restrictions, spectators will not be allowed.

Xavier’s next match will be on Tuesday (Oct. 6), a road encounter at Glendale Mountain Ridge.
