Lacrosse wins third in row, tennis No. 3 in final rank

Xavier Prep’s club lacrosse team won its third straight match on Tuesday night (April 20), 18-6 over host Scottsdale Chaparral in a Division 2 showdown for the Arizona Girls Lacrosse Association.

Xavier is now 5-5 overall and has outscored its opponents 42-25 during its winning streak.

The Gators are set to play a day game on Saturday (April 24) at Petznick Field, with a 4 p.m. start.

Xavier Prep’s tennis team has been ranked third on the Arizona Interscholastic Association’s final power points list for the regular season.

The two teams that defeated the Gators (12-2) are top-ranked Scottsdale Desert Mountain and No. 2 Chandler Hamilton. Both teams get automatic bids in the Division I state tournament that begins Tuesday (April 27). Xavier is not automatic because Hamilton is considered the winner of the Premier Region, with Xavier second.
