Lacrosse players, coaches have key All-Star roles

Coaches and players from Xavier Prep’s club lacrosse team wrapped up their strong season on May 17 when they joined forces on the Wildcats (Blue) team that earned a 13-11 victory over the Sun Devils (White) in the Arizona Girls Lacrosse Association Division Division 2 All-Star Game at Scottsdale Notre Dame Prep.

The Gators had a prolific scoring season and that continued as many of the team’s seven All-Star participants had a hand in the scoring. The Wildcats were coached by Xavier co-head coaches Diana Oduho and Jen Nevatt.

The Xavier players were senior defender Bella Giannini, junior goalkeeper Ann Obiese, sophomore attacker Gigi Riviere, sophomore midfielder Joan Walton, sophomore attacker Keilani Hong, freshman midfielder Marlee McCloskey and freshman midfielder McKenna Boyer.

Xavier also had some end-of-the-season award recipients – Division 2 All-State attackers Hong and Riviere and attacker Giannini. And Hong was named the Division 2 Attacker of the Year.

Congrats to the players and coaches on a job well done !! Go Gators !!
