He covered high school sports on several occasions as well as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State sports. Badminton team steps up at key moment

 Xavier Prep’s badminton team picked up a signature victory on Thursday (Sept. 30) as its young team continues to learn on the run.

In a home match at XCP, Xavier emerged from a 4-4 deadlock entering the final doubles pairing, and the Gators’ Lexi Garman and Caroline Cobb responded with a 21-12, 21-19 victory over Hamilton’s Melanie Lee and Allison Diep to clinch a 5-4 victory.

Xavier is now ­7-6-1 and Hamilton is 5-7. Xavier will play in the Forner Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 2) at Phoenix Sunnyslope and will be back at Sunnyslope for a road match on Wedneday (Oct. 6).
