Gators have 19 runners in prestigious Mt. SAC

Nineteen of Xavier Prep’s cross-country runners are about to share the experience of a lifetime – to run in the prestigious Mt. SAC (Mount San Antonio College) Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 23) in the southern California community of Walnut.

The event is one of the largest in the world, according to Xavier coach Dave Van Sickle, and includes elementary, junior college and high school runners. Some of the competitors ran last weekend, but there are plenty left over.

High schools will have five divisions, running on both days, and there will be sweepstakes races on both days. The races will be 3 miles in length.

The Xavier runners are:

Seniors – Catherine Alaimo, Erika Germinario, Tatum Goforth, Macarthy Mahoney, Marissa Mansour, Karime Morales and Hannah Wheeling.

Juniors – Sarai Arkeveld, Reese Brown, Holland Carey, Kylie Graf, Nora Hinkle, Cassara Ryan, Reyna Silva and Naomi Young.

Sophomores – Lily Beaver, Bella Gomez, Summer Goodman and Sophia Maroufkani.
