Xavier Prep’s assembly line golf production has two more outstanding young players on national display.
They are
sophomores Jayden Jevnick and Kate Hauptman. On Sept. 30, they were among the
top two teams in the 2021 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Qualifier at the
Briarwood Country Club in Sun City.
They shared
the co-medalist honors (5-under 67) with Berlin Long of Lehi, Utah, and Grace
Summerhays of Scottsdale Chaparral. They advance to the USGA Four-Ball
tournament in Puerto Rico in April of 2022.
Xavier
junior Annie Dawson was listed on the No. 2 alternate team after combining with
Brooke McGlasson of Peoria Liberty for a 1-under 71.
The Xavier
Prep team will play in a state preview event on Monday (Oct. 18) at the Aguila
Golf Course in Laveen. The state tournament will be held Nov. 1-2 at the Tucson
Omni National Golf Resort.
