Gators have lucky number with letters of intent

Who says 13 is an unlucky number?

Certainly not Xavier Prep’s Gators, who listed a record 13 athletes signing collegiate letters of intent on National Signing Day on Wednesday (Nov. 10).

In what has been an annual tradition since 2000, athletes moving on to college gather for a ceremony on the stage of the Virginia C. Piper Performing Arts Center, signing their letters while wearing gear from their future school as family members and friends look on.

More ceremonies are scheduled in January and again in April.

Here are the girls new to the collegiate fold . . .

Swimmer Ashleigh Baros (Missouri-St. Louis).

Beach volleyball player Landree Coats (San Jose State).

Softball infielder Bridget Donahey (Northwestern).

Softball pitcher Riley Flynn (Harvard).

Gymnastics athlete Alicia Jasinski (Mary Hardin-Baylor for Acrobatics and Tumbling).

Tennis player Ryan Kershner (Boise State).

Rower Kathleen Morgan (Notre Dame).

Swimmer Gracie Munk (Northern Arizona).

Swimmer Hope Nolan (Fordham).

Softball outfielder-infielder Emma Peterson (Siena).

Softball second baseman Meghan Schouten (Boston College).

Volleyball setter Alexa Shiner (Westmont, Calif.).

Volleyball middle blocker Isabella Sinacori (College of Charleston).
