For XCP hoops, road doesn't seem a bad place to be

Playing on the road seems to be almost as comfortable for Xavier Prep’s basketball team as being at home.

For the fourth time in five games, the Gators boarded the team bus and headed to Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor in the northwest Valley, and managed to keep their unbeaten record intact wih a 67-47 victory over the Eagles. Xavier now stands at 5-0.

Sophomore guard-forward Sarah Miller played an impactful all-around game with a team-high 21 points and seven rebounds. Junior guard Sienna Cherwinski had 13 points and five assists.

Xavier will finally return home to the Activity Center on Tuesday night (Dec. 14) against Scottsdale Chaparral. And beginning on Dec. 18, the Gators will participate in the Nike Tournament of Champions at several sites in the southeast Valley. The team is expected to play at least four games.
