Xavier Prep basketball player Sienna Cherwinski who will be a senior during the next school year, has been selected to participate in the 11th Basketball Without Borders Americas camp hosted by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
The camp
will be held in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, from May 16-19, 2022 and will include
the top prospects from several countries.
Cherwinski
was selected for this honor based on her outstanding basketball skills and
leadership abilities. She will be coached by FIBA/NBA/WNBA players and coaches
and will become acquainted with other players her age.
The NBA and
FIBA will cover all expenses, including travel costs (airfare), accommodations,
ground transportation meals and insurance for the duration of the camp. Campers
will be greeted at the airport by NBA staff and will be accompanied by
chaperones and security for the duration of camp.
During the
camp, the players will improve on their skill development, gain strength and
improve on their conditioning, along with working on life skill sessions and
playing in games and other competitions. NIKE is the presenting partner for the
camp and each camper will be provided with basketball shoes, uniforms and other
apparel.
