New Gator grads Richardson, Schouten shine brightly

The excellence shown by Xavier Prep students from year to year never ceases to amaze us.

Two of the school's recent graduates joined the list of top students on Sunday (May 22) in the Arizona Interscholastic Association annual Awards Gala at State Farm Stadium, home of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals.

They were Helena Richardson and Meghan Schouten.

Richardson was XCP's Commencement Speaker on May 14, and was an AIA Student of the Year finalist.

Schouten was a leader on the softball field, having helped Xavier win its second consecutive 6A Conference state championship, also on May 14, and off the field. She was the Outstanding Student for the AIA's Leadership Advisory Committee.

She has signed a letter of intent to study and play softball at Boston College.
